A little beauty, this Mercury is a traditional short-scale parlour model. With the neck joining the body at the 12th fret - rather than the 14th - the strings are held at a slightly lower tension than on regular models. Another implication of the 12th fret join is that the bridge is shifted further from the soundhole.
These features result in a guitar that is physically easier to play, sounds much bigger than you would imagine and is also simple to handle and transport.
Faith HiGloss series are designed to offer both visual and aural beauty. Using high grade Englemann Spruce for the top and highly-figured Rosewood for the back and sides, HiGloss models feature solid Flamed Maple binding and Macassan Ebony for the fingerboard, bridge, headplate and heelcap.
Tonally, this combination of wood is generally bright and 'zingy', delivering great clarity. Visualising this as a frequency curve, it would be shaped like a smile: high on the bass, dipping down through the middle and rising once again at the top end, lending itself to fingerstyle and solo pieces in particular.

I'd like to know if I can change the pickp. I think this one has a shadow system, but I'd like the Fishman Ink. Can I get one from you and will it fit?"
A really fantastic guitar, superbly made and beautiful to look at. Everything about this guitar (sound quality, construction, finish, solid woods, parts used, ease of use) is way above the expected quality for the price (also, the "scoop" is a truly great idea - I wondered how much it difference it would make, and the answer is "a lot") - seriously, this easily competes with guitars at twice it's cost of purchase. Setup on arrival was perfect also - thanks for that, a nice touch that is always appreciated.
Construction is very solid and I have high hopes that it will last a lifetime of use - really looking forward to how it will sound in 20 years! Thanks Faith, great guitar. "
Wasnít looking for a parlour, just a good acoustic.
But when the guy from the shop showed me this to try I fell in love and couldnít leave it in the store.
I hadnít even researched this guitar and itís rare these days to buy a product without reading review after review but it sold itself which is the way it should be. "
Only time will tell :)"
